Overview

The 'Wanju Wild & Local Food Festival,' Wanju-gun's signature festival, is a festival that visitors of all ages can enjoy amid Wanju's pristine nature — offering wild (WILD) and unique experiences not found in everyday life, along with healthy local (LOCAL) food (FOOD), as the region is a top destination for local food. Under the 2026 slogan "Blazing Wild Nature," the festival's signature programs include fire-roasted oven cooking, local bushcraft, potato samgut (earth-pit potato roasting), and large-scale fire-themed events. In addition, visitors can experience it all at once — the autumn atmosphere along with memories, nostalgia, escape, and healing — through a wild nature playground featuring water play on Siryangcheon Stream and straw-bale slides, a local table prepared with care by chefs from the women's associations of 13 towns and townships, a direct farm market for local specialty produce, and a wild WAPU EDM music party.
