Overview

The 29th Pocheon Sanjeongho Lake Myeongseongsan Silver Grass Festival will be held for three days from October 16 to 18, 2026, around the beautiful Sanjeongho Lake and Myeongseongsan Mountain area.

Under the theme 'Autumn, Our Moments Shining Brightest with Silver Grass,' the festival unfolds with a variety of performances and hands-on experiences set amid waves of silver grass, along with nighttime attractions.

During the day, visitors can rest at the sentimental Silver Grass Flower Garden rest area or take part in family-friendly hands-on programs such as Myeongseongsan Plogging, Silver Grass Makgeolli Sommelier, a military equipment display experience, and 'A Letter to Receive in One Year.' In the evening, a spectacular fireworks performance over the water on Sanjeongho Lake and nighttime silver grass lighting decorated by local residents illuminate the lakeside, offering special memories of an autumn night. In addition, an opening celebration performance featuring singers Park Chang-geun, Park Ju-hee, and Yang Hye-seung, together with stages by local artists, provides an even richer array of attractions.

Why go

This 29th edition of the festival turns the shoreline of Sanjeongho Lake and Myeongseongsan Mountain into a sea of silver grass for three days in mid-October 2026. Daytime brings family-friendly programs like plogging, a makgeolli tasting experience, and a military equipment display, while evenings feature fireworks over the lake and silver grass illuminated by local residents, plus an opening concert with singers Park Chang-geun, Park Ju-hee, and Yang Hye-seung.

Getting there from Seoul

Pocheon has no KTX or subway service, so the usual route is an intercity or express bus from a Seoul terminal (such as Dong Seoul Bus Terminal) to Pocheon's bus terminal. From there, transfer to a local bus or taxi to reach the Sanjeongho Lake and Myeongseongsan area, as the venue is some distance outside downtown Pocheon. A full one-way trip typically takes around 1.5 to 2 hours depending on traffic.

Tips

  • Evenings by the lake get cool and breezy in October, so bring a warm layer for the nighttime lighting and fireworks.
  • The fireworks and lighting displays draw large crowds, so arrive early for a good viewing spot and expect heavier traffic near the venue.
  • Confirm return bus or taxi availability in advance, since this is a rural lakeside venue with limited late-night transport options.

Best for: families, photographers, nature lovers, couples.
