Uiryeong Gigang Rich Flower Festival
Sep 24 – Oct 25, 2026 · Happening now · Gyeongsangnam-do

Overview
The '2026 Uiryeong Gigang Rich Flower Festival' is a flower-themed festival held from Thursday, September 24, 2026 to Sunday, October 25, 2026, in the area around 672 Seongsan-ri, Jijeong-myeon, Uiryeong-gun, at the Hoguk Uibyeong Forest Waterfront Park. The opening ceremony will be held at Plaza 2 from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM on Sunday, September 27, and the festival programs will run for a total of 10 days: September 24–27, October 3–5, and October 9–11. The festival's direction is to combine the waterside and flower scenery of the Gigang area with the theme of 'the energy of wealth,' creating a flower festival with a character unique to Uiryeong. The landscaped complex covers a total area of 7.1 hectares and is planted with kochia, pampas grass, pink muhly grass, aster, gaura, cosmos, and other flowers. Main programs include the opening performance and celebratory performances, an ecological trail walking path, flower photo zones, Life4Cuts photo booths, a flower playground, cultural performances, local food booths, and booths selling agricultural and local specialty products. During the festival, a shuttle bus (the 'Bbangbbang Bus') circulating between Uiryeong-eup, Jeonggok-myeon, and the festival site will operate 8 times a day. The festival is hosted by Uiryeong-gun and sponsored by the Uiryeong-gun Council.
Why go
This is a flower festival at Hoguk Uibyeong Forest Waterfront Park in Uiryeong, where a 7.1-hectare landscaped area is planted with kochia, pampas grass, pink muhly grass, aster, gaura, and cosmos under a 'energy of wealth' theme tied to the waterside Gigang scenery. Visitors can walk an ecological trail, visit flower photo zones and Life4Cuts photo booths, and browse local food and agricultural product booths alongside cultural performances.
Getting there from Seoul
Uiryeong-gun has no KTX station, so the most direct option from Seoul is an express bus from a Seoul terminal (such as Dong Seoul or Seoul Nambu) to Uiryeong Bus Terminal. Alternatively, take the KTX to a nearby city such as Jinju or Masan and continue by local bus or taxi. From Uiryeong-eup or Jeonggok-myeon, the festival runs its own 'Bbangbbang Bus' shuttle to the site eight times a day.
Tips
- Use the free 'Bbangbbang Bus' shuttle (8 departures a day) between Uiryeong-eup, Jeonggok-myeon, and the festival site if you don't have a car.
- Performances and special programs only run on specific days (Sept 24-27, Oct 3-5, Oct 9-11); the flower fields themselves stay open through October 25, so time your visit accordingly.
- The opening ceremony is at Plaza 2 on Sunday, September 27, 2-3:30 PM — arrive early for a good spot if attending, or visit a different day for a quieter walk.
Best for: families, photographers, flower lovers, couples.
