Overview

MAMF is Korea's largest cultural diversity festival, designed to help migrants living in Korea and Korean nationals respect cultural diversity and understand each other's cultures. Held in Changwon, Gyeongsangnam-do, the festival is organized so that visitors can experience and view the diverse cultures of countries around the world in a variety of ways. The program includes an opening ceremony and celebratory performance, a special cultural performance by the guest country's art troupe, a cultural diversity parade, the World Music Festival, the Korea Migrants' Song Festival, world culture experience booths, and more, allowing visitors to see, feel, and enjoy world cultures firsthand over three days. The guest country for 2026 is Uzbekistan, which will present traditional performances by its national art troupe along with its distinctive culture.

Why go

MAMF is Korea's largest cultural diversity festival, bringing together migrants living in Korea and Korean nationals to celebrate world cultures side by side. Over three days you can catch an opening ceremony, a special performance by the 2026 guest country Uzbekistan's national art troupe, a cultural diversity parade, the World Music Festival, the Korea Migrants' Song Festival, and hands-on world culture experience booths.

Getting there from Seoul

Take the KTX from Seoul Station to Changwon-jungang or Changwon station (around 2.5-3 hours), then a local bus or short taxi ride to Sinwol-dong. An express bus from Seoul to Changwon terminal is also an option, typically around 4 hours. The festival venues (Yongji Cultural Park, Seongsan Art Hall, and Changwon Jungang-daero) are close enough together to walk between.

Tips

  • Venues are spread across a park, an art hall, and a main boulevard, so wear comfortable shoes and check a map on arrival to plan your route between stages.
  • The program runs across three days with performances, a parade, and booths at different times, so confirm the day's schedule locally rather than assuming one fixed timetable.
  • Outdoor sections (parade, street booths) mean weather matters in late October, so bring a light jacket.

Best for: families, culture enthusiasts, music fans, photographers.
