Overview

Held since 2022, the Gwangalli M(Marvelous) Drone Light Show takes its name from "M," meaning 'Marvelous' — amazing and wondrous. The lights emitted by the drones blend with the night view of Gwangan Bridge, a landmark of Busan, to offer visitors to Gwangalli a sense of wonder and mystery. The show runs twice every Saturday evening (winter season October–February: 7 PM and 9 PM / summer season March–September: 8 PM and 10 PM) for about 12 minutes, and can be viewed from anywhere along Gwangalli Beach. Shows range from the regular weekly performance featuring 1,100 drones to larger-scale shows of up to 3,000 drones for events such as countdowns, Seollal, and Chuseok.

* The performance schedule may change depending on weather conditions, etc.

Why go

Since 2022, Gwangalli Beach has hosted a weekly drone light show that blends with the night view of Gwangan Bridge, one of Busan's landmark sights. The regular show uses 1,100 drones, with larger displays of up to 3,000 drones for special occasions like New Year's countdown, Seollal, and Chuseok.

Getting there from Seoul

Take the KTX from Seoul Station to Busan Station (about 2.5 hours), then continue by subway or taxi to Gwangalli Beach in Suyeong-gu. Express buses to Busan's bus terminals are also available from Seoul's Gyeongbu/Central City terminals, though the KTX is faster.

Tips

  • Shows run only on Saturday evenings (two 12-minute shows per night: 7 PM and 9 PM in winter, October-February; 8 PM and 10 PM in summer, March-September) — plan your visit accordingly.
  • The show can be viewed for free from anywhere along Gwangalli Beach, so there's no need to arrive at a single fixed spot, though a beachfront café seat helps for photos.
  • Schedules can change due to weather, so check locally on the day before heading out.

Best for: families, photographers, couples, first-time visitors to Busan.
