Why go
This festival celebrates Cheongdo bansi, the county's signature seedless persimmon, with exhibitions and sales of the fruit alongside desserts and processed foods made from it. Visitors can join hands-on programs, watch performances and competitions involving local residents and youth, and let children take part in a dedicated experience area, making it a well-rounded family outing centred on local agriculture.
Getting there from Seoul
Cheongdo sits on the Gyeongbu line, so direct ITX-Saemaeul or Mugunghwa trains from Seoul Station reach Cheongdo Station without a transfer; alternatively, take KTX to Dongdaegu and change to a local train or bus onward to Cheongdo. From Cheongdo Station, the festival site at the Cheongdo Outdoor Performance Hall in Hwayang-eup is a short taxi or local bus ride away.
Tips
- The venue is outside central Cheongdo town, so plan for a short taxi or local bus connection from the station.
- Come hungry — persimmon-based desserts and processed foods are the festival's specialty to sample.
- Mid-October can be warm by day and cool after dark, so bring a layer for the evening programs.
