Overview

The 2026 Ansan Science Valley (ASV) Science Festival is a citizen-participation science and culture festival where visitors can experience future science and technology, including AI and robotics, all in one place. It is Ansan City's signature festival, organized in cooperation with ASV-affiliated institutions, universities, research institutes, companies, foundations, and organizations, offering an opportunity to directly see and experience a variety of future science technologies.

This year in particular, to mark the 40th anniversary of Ansan's elevation to city status, special programs will be prepared to share the region's scientific and technological development and future vision. The festival will feature diverse content, including exhibition and experience programs on cutting-edge science and technology such as AI and robotics, as well as the environment and carbon neutrality, creative-convergence education, science and culture performances, and citizen-participation events.

Through programs that fuse science with the humanities, culture, art, and other fields, this is a festival where everyone from children to adults can experience science in an easy and enjoyable way.

Why go

This is Ansan's signature citizen-participation science festival, bringing together AI, robotics, carbon-neutrality and creative-convergence exhibits from ASV-affiliated universities, research institutes and companies. The 2026 edition also marks the 40th anniversary of Ansan's elevation to city status, so expect special programs highlighting the region's scientific history and future vision alongside science-themed performances and hands-on activities for all ages.

Getting there from Seoul

The venue, Hanyang University's ERICA Campus in Sangnok-gu, Ansan, is served directly by Hanyang University Station (한대앞), which sits on both Seoul Subway Line 4 and the Suin-Bundang Line, making it a straightforward one-seat subway ride from central Seoul. Journey time is roughly an hour or more depending on your starting station, with no need to transfer to a bus or taxi for most travelers coming from Seoul.

Tips

  • Early November can be cold, and exhibits are spread across an outdoor/indoor university campus, so dress warmly and wear comfortable walking shoes.
  • Hanyang University Station is the nearest stop, but the ERICA campus is large — allow extra time to walk between exhibit halls.
  • As a hands-on, citizen-participation event with many institutional partners, popular AI and robotics booths may draw queues, so arrive early if you want to try interactive exhibits.

Best for: families, students, technology enthusiasts.
