Overview

The 28th UN Peace Festival is a peace and culture festival held for three days, from October 23 to 25, 2026, in and around Peace Park in Nam-gu, Busan. Under the slogan 'Open Memory, Open Future,' the event is organized to remember the sacrifices and dedication of the UN's participating nations and to share the value of peace with citizens. Under the theme 'Peace Completed by Many Pieces (Pieces Make Peace),' the festival operates six themed zones — the Memory Zone, Participation Zone, Performance Zone, Connection Zone, Healing Food Zone, and Future Zone — presenting a variety of exhibitions, cultural performances, world culture experiences, and citizen-participation programs. In particular, a peace parade bringing together citizens of various generations and nationalities conveys the meaning of harmony and communication, giving everyone a chance to directly feel and empathize with the value of peace. It is a citizen-participation festival that connects memories of the past with today's peace, bringing different people together as one to build a peaceful future.

    Busan Fireworks Festival

    Nov 7, 2026

The 'Busan Fireworks Festival' is Korea's premier maritime multimedia fireworks festival, held across Gwangalli Beach and the area around Gwangan Bridge. It began in 2005 with a celebratory fireworks show commemorating the APEC Summit, and this year marks its 21st anniversary as one of Busan's signature autumn cultural events. The festival uses Gwangan Bridge's special lighting and large-scale production systems to present a massive maritime multimedia show that blends music and fireworks. Through unique staging techniques that make use of the geographic character of Gwangalli's night sea and large-scale fireworks launches, it has established itself as a global festival visited by countless domestic and international spectators every year. In its 21st edition this year, the event will adorn Busan's night sky with even more refined storytelling and maritime fireworks displays.
