Overview

The '2026 Suwon Special City Pet Harmony Festival,' hosted by Suwon City and organized by the KCMC Culture Center, was held as part of the declaration of Korea's first 'Pet Education City' vision, and is an educational festival where citizens and their pets learn and enjoy together. It will be held on October 24 at Gwanggyo Central Park in Suwon, where visitors can watch a free talk concert on proper dog walking by trainer Lee Chan-jong from the TV program 'Animal Farm.' In addition, major events include a pet grooming seminar, the Dog Olympics, and a dog fashion show, along with various programs such as 1:1 pet health consultations with veterinarians, behavior guidance consultations with trainers, pet tarot, pet caricatures, and a flea market. Various prizes and giveaways will also be provided for households raising pets.

Why go

Suwon's one-day Pet Harmony Festival marks the city's declaration as Korea's first 'Pet Education City,' combining hands-on learning with pet-friendly fun: a free talk concert on proper dog walking by TV trainer Lee Chan-jong (from 'Animal Farm'), a Dog Olympics, and a dog fashion show. Visitors travelling with a dog can also get on-site vet consultations, trainer behaviour advice, pet caricatures, pet tarot, and browse a flea market.

Getting there from Seoul

Gwanggyo Central Park is in Yeongtong-gu, Suwon, southern Gyeonggi-do. The Sinbundang Line subway runs directly from Seoul (e.g. Gangnam) to Gwanggyo Station, its southern terminus, close to the park. Alternatively, take a KTX, ITX-Saemaeul, or regular train from Seoul/Yongsan Station to Suwon Station, then continue by local bus or taxi to Gwanggyo Central Park.

Tips

  • The dog-walking talk concert with trainer Lee Chan-jong is free but likely popular, so arrive early for a seat.
  • If bringing your own dog for the Dog Olympics or fashion show, carry a leash and any ID/vaccination documents organizers may request.
  • It's a single-day outdoor event (October 24 only); admission fee isn't listed in the festival info, so confirm details locally or via the city's event page.

Best for: pet owners, families, dog lovers, day-trippers from Seoul.
