Overview

'Orosi, Madoro' is a special outdoor library event run by the Gyeongsangnam-do Office of Education's Masan Library from November 7 to 8. The parking lot in front of the library is transformed into a reading space filled with green lawns and parasols, allowing anyone to freely read and relax. On-site, visitors can freely browse a variety of books and enjoy leisurely reading with free coffee, as well as take part in various hands-on programs. In particular, on the 8th, a large-scale group reading discussion called the 'One-Day Reading Club' will be held with 118 participants. It is a special program in which professional instructors are assigned to each team, allowing families, friends, and neighbors to read together and share their thoughts. It is an outdoor reading festival in the heart of the city where visitors can experience reading, relaxation, and connection all in one place.

Why go

This is a free outdoor reading event in Masan, where a library parking lot is turned into a lawn-and-parasol reading space for two days. Visitors can browse books, drink free coffee, and join hands-on programs, with a highlight on 8 November being a large group reading discussion for 118 participants led by professional instructors.

Getting there from Seoul

Take the KTX from Seoul Station (or an express/intercity bus from Seoul Nambu or Dong Seoul Bus Terminal) to Masan Station or Masan Bus Terminal in Changwon-si, Gyeongsangnam-do. From either terminal, a short taxi or local bus ride gets you to the venue at 12 Yongmasan-gil, Masanhappo-gu (Sanho-dong).

Tips

  • Bring a blanket or cushion if you plan to sit on the lawn for extended reading
  • If you want to join the 8 November 'One-Day Reading Club' group discussion, arrive early since it involves a set number of participants (118) organized into instructor-led teams
  • Check the weather for early November, as the event is outdoors under parasols rather than in an enclosed space

Best for: families, bookworms, photographers, local culture seekers.
