Overview
Jeonju Cultural Heritage Night Tour focuses on preserving and remembering Korea’s heritages and the ancestors’ spirits. Jeonju features many historical sites from the Joseon dynasty and traditional culture.
Why go
This free evening event lets visitors walk through Jeonju's Joseon-era heritage sites after dark, with Gyeonggijeon Shrine, Pungnammun Gate, and the Jeollagamyeong Provincial Office all open as part of the route. It's organized by the Cultural Heritage Administration together with Jeonbuk-do and Jeonju-si to highlight the preservation of Korea's traditional culture and history.
Getting there from Seoul
Take a KTX or other train service from Seoul to Jeonju Station, or an express bus from a Seoul terminal (such as Central City) to Jeonju Bus Terminal; both options take roughly 2 to 2.5 hours. From either station, it's a short taxi ride or local bus to Jeonju Hanok Village, where the tour sites are clustered within easy walking distance of each other.
Tips
- The tour runs 18:00–22:00, so time your arrival for early evening before dusk.
- Early October evenings can be cool, so bring a light jacket.
- Wear comfortable shoes, as the route covers walking between the Hanok Village, Gyeonggijeon Shrine, Pungnammun Gate, and the provincial office.
Best for: history buffs, photographers, families, first-time visitors to Jeonju.

Jeonju Hanok Village Traditional Performance Parade

The Jeonju Hanok Village Traditional Performance Parade is packed with various street performances, allowing visitors to experience Jeonju's folk culture on the streets. During the parade, visitors can witness Jeonju gijeopnori, a representative traditional performance of Jeonju; madangnori, a traditional performance featuring dance, music, and storytelling through various forms, or sing along to folk labor songs.

Jeonju Bibimbap Festival

The Jeonju Bibimbap Festival celebrates the taste and charm of one of Korea's representative foods in the city of it's origin, Jeonju. The city has been recognized by UNESCO as a City of Gastronomy, and the festival promotes this branding. Visitors to the festival can enjoy a variety of immersive programs, including hadns-on activities and performances centered on Jeonju bibimbap.

Imsil N Cheese Festival

Details for the 2026 festivals will be updated as they become available.*Imsil N Cheese Festival is held every fall in Imsil, the birthplace of cheese production in Korea, at Imsil Cheese Theme Park and Imsil Cheese Village, which are proud symbols of the region. Visitors are greeted by the aroma of delicious cheese as they wander through the beautiful chrysanthemum flower garden with millions of blooms. The festival features more than 10 main themes and 70 programs centered around cheese, offering a rich and diverse experience.
