The Icheon Ginseng Festival has been held annually since 2015 to promote the benefits and value of the locally grown ginseng. The festival features sales as well as events.
Why go
This small-scale festival celebrates Icheon's locally grown ginseng, a crop the region is well known for, and has run annually since 2015. Expect ginseng product sales alongside festival events at the producers' association sales centre.
Getting there from Seoul
Icheon is in eastern Gyeonggi-do; take an intercity bus from Seoul (e.g. Dong Seoul/Gangbyeon Terminal) to Icheon, or a Gyeonggang Line train toward Icheon Station, roughly 1-1.5 hours. The venue is in Sindun-myeon outside the city centre, so plan on a taxi or local bus from the Icheon terminal/station for the final stretch.
Tips
- Go between 10:00 and 15:00 only — the festival does not run in the evening.
- Admission is free, but bring cash or card for ginseng purchases at the sales booths.
- The venue is a rural sales centre outside central Icheon, so arrange a taxi from Icheon's bus terminal or train station rather than expecting to walk.
Best for: ginseng shoppers, day-trippers, food lovers.

Icheon Ginseng Health Festival

The Icheon Ginseng Festival began in 2015 to promote the premium ginseng grown in Icheon, Korea's largest ginseng-producing region. To grow into the leading ginseng health festival in the Seoul metropolitan area by combining ginseng with the theme of health, it was renamed the Icheon Ginseng Health Festival starting in 2025. The Icheon Ginseng Health Festival is a special festival where, amid the atmosphere of autumn, visitors can enjoy ginseng as well as take care of their health, offering an affordable shopping opportunity to see and purchase high-quality Icheon ginseng with its deep, rich aroma. It also offers visitors participatory content in the form of health and play experiences using ginseng — such as a ginseng product evaluation fair, ginseng health kimchi-making experience, and ginseng foot bath — where people of all ages and genders can see and enjoy ginseng while taking care of their health. Colorful stage performances by invited singers and events such as a ginseng auction with visitors add to the festival's excitement, and it is one of Icheon's representative festivals, where visitors can taste healthy foods made with freshly harvested ginseng, such as fried ginseng and ginseng makgeolli.

It is held over two days, from Saturday, October 24 to Sunday, October 25, 2026, at Icheon Ceramics Art Village (YesPark). The festival is designed to raise proper awareness of pets and spread a mature pet culture.
