Marking the 580th anniversary of the promulgation of Hunminjeongeum, the "2026 Hangeul Day Cultural Event" will be held around King Sejong's Tomb (Yeongneung) from October 9 to 10, 2026. This cultural event is organized to promote King Sejong's achievements and the value of Hangeul, and to reflect on the meaning of Hangeul Day. For children and family visitors, a variety of hands-on and exhibition programs themed around Hangeul will be held, including a special performance of 'Catch! Teenieping' and an interactive performance by 'Ordinary Siblings' (Heunhan Namae). In addition, the 'Rest Area Mini Concert,' featuring various cultural and artistic performances, will be held throughout King Sejong's Tomb. Yangpyeong Buchu (Chives) Festival

Now in its 7th year, the Yangpyeong Buchu Festival is a resident-led festival that promotes the premium chives of Yangdong-myeon, Yangpyeong-gun—the nation's top chive-producing region—along with the county's excellent agricultural specialty products, created together by local schools, farming households, and residents. In particular, the 2026 "Buchu-da Yangpyeong Buchu Festival" takes as its theme "a festival with lots of flavor, lots of fun, and lots of happiness," offering visitors the chance to enjoy, all in one place, Korea's finest Yangdong chives and fresh agricultural produce grown with farmers' dedication, along with a wide variety of food and hands-on programs.
