Overview

The Gyeonggi·Yangju·Ground Operations Command Dronebot Festival is a civilian-government-military cooperation festival co-hosted by Gyeonggi Province, Yangju City, and the Ground Operations Command. It will be held over 3 days from October 30 to November 1, 2026, at Ganam-ri Airfield in Gwangjeok-myeon, Yangju City. Based on the "Yangju City Ordinance on the Promotion and Support of the Drone Industry" and the "Memorandum of Understanding for the Civilian-Government-Military Cooperative Development of Ganam-ri Airfield," the festival's purpose is to foster a flagship festival for the western region and build a foundation for the drone industry to promote balanced regional development. With a total project budget of 61.2 billion KRW, the event showcases the Army's dronebot combat system demonstrations, exhibitions of USFK combat equipment, exhibitions by leading domestic and international drone and robot companies, a dronebot competition, and a variety of military culture performances and citizen experience programs, offering a glimpse into the future of advanced national defense and the 4th Industrial Revolution.

Why go

This is a rare civilian-government-military cooperation festival combining Army dronebot combat demonstrations, USFK equipment displays, and exhibitions from domestic and international drone and robot companies. It's built around a dronebot competition plus military culture performances and citizen experience programs, giving visitors a hands-on look at drone technology and national defense themes.

Getting there from Seoul

The venue, Ganam-ri Airfield, is in Gwangjeok-myeon, Yangju-si, in northern Gyeonggi Province. From Seoul, take Seoul Subway Line 1 toward Uijeongbu/Dongducheon and continue by local bus or taxi to Gwangjeok-myeon, or drive directly (roughly an hour or so depending on traffic and starting point in Seoul). Since the site is an airfield rather than a central town location, check the festival's official announcements closer to the date for any shuttle bus service.

Tips

  • This is an outdoor airfield venue, so dress for late October/early November weather and wear comfortable walking shoes.
  • Base yourself in nearby Uijeongbu or Dongducheon for easier transit connections, since the airfield itself is in a rural area outside central Yangju.
  • Schedule, fees, and detailed program timings weren't specified in the available information, so confirm these through official festival channels before you go.

Best for: military and defense enthusiasts, families, tech and robotics fans, photographers.
