Overview

The 2026 Geumjeongsanseong Festival, celebrating the value of Geumjeongsan Mountain, newly designated a national park in 2026, will be held for three days from October 16 (Fri) to October 18 (Sun) at Geumjeongsanseong Square and the surrounding area of Geumjeongsanseong Fortress. It is a history, culture, and arts festival based on Geumjeongsanseong Fortress, Busan Geumjeong-gu's representative cultural heritage and Korea's largest mountain fortress, and Geumjeongsan Mountain national park, held every year to commemorate the construction of Geumjeongsanseong Fortress. The Geumjeongsanseong Festival, which has continued since it began as the Geumjeong Arts Festival in 1996, will showcase Geumjeong's new charm this year through a variety of programs blending the ecology and nature of Geumjeongsan Mountain national park with the history and culture of Geumjeongsanseong Fortress.

    Dongnaeeupseong History Festival

    The Dongnaeeupseong History Festival is Dongnae-gu’s signature festival combining history education with hands-on experiences. First launched as Chungnyeolje in 1995, the festival is now celebrating its 32nd edition. Recognized as one of Korea’s leading cultural tourism festivals, it invites visitors to experience the vivid history of 1592 through immersive programs and performances. The festival opens with the Dongnae Magistrate Parade, a grand street procession featuring hundreds of participants. The Dongnaeseong Battle Reenactment Musical, staged at the actual site of an Imjin War battle and enhanced with media art, brings the story of Dongnae’s determined resistance vividly to life. Visitors can also join the Dongnae Three-Strand Tug-of-War, a communal event that brings people together, and enjoy contemporary hands-on activities such as an outdoor escape room and snack-making experiences. At Dongnae Market, visitors can carry yeopjeon (traditional coins) into a recreated Joseon-era marketplace and experience daily life as a resident of the old fortress town. Blending history with the future, the festival offers a rich variety of programs and creates special memories for visitors this fall.

    Nakdonggang Gupo Naru Festival

    The 13th Nakdong River Gupo Naru Festival is a leading regional cultural tourism festival held in the beautiful Hwamyeong Ecological Park, built on the history and culture of Gupo, which was once a major ferry crossing and logistics hub on the Nakdong River. Under the slogan 'Connect, Play, Meet! Gupo Naru,' the festival runs for three days from October 16 to 18, offering a variety of programs including performances, exhibitions, experiences, and food so that people of all ages can enjoy it together. Highlights include a recreated ferry site where visitors can see the old appearance of Gupo Naru, as well as the Gupo Noodle Platter and noodle-making experience, ecological experience programs, wellness programs, and the Nakdong Book Fair. The festival also runs programs where residents directly participate, such as the Gupo Naru Song Festival and Our Neighborhood Open Busking, adding to the enjoyment as visitors and local residents create the festival together. After sunset, nighttime content such as the Gupo Naru Night Walk and the Garden of Light, along with the Byeolbada Busan Night Market, continues, letting visitors enjoy a beautiful autumn night by the Nakdong River. At Gupo Naru, where history and culture, nature and people, taste and enjoyment come together, visitors can make special autumn memories with family, friends, and neighbors.
