Busan Global Webtoon Festival
Oct 30 – Nov 1, 2026 · Busan

Overview
The 2026 Busan Global Webtoon Festival is a webtoon-focused festival where webtoon artists, related companies, universities, and citizens all take part together. Marking its 10th edition this year, the event will be held from October 30 to November 1, 2026, in and around the Busan Culture & Contents Complex. The opening ceremony will be attended by webtoon industry figures and participating artists, with a celebratory performance by an invited singer. During the festival, a variety of participatory programs will run, including webtoon exhibitions, stage programs bringing artists and citizens together, and a family comic-drawing contest. University booths featuring webtoon-related universities and exhibition/experience booths run by webtoon companies and organizations will also operate, offering a chance to see webtoon creation and the related industry all in one place. A business consultation program will also run to facilitate exchange between webtoon artists and related companies, making this a festival designed to let webtoon creators, industry professionals, aspiring creators, and citizens connect through webtoons.
Why go
This is the 10th edition of the Busan Global Webtoon Festival, bringing together webtoon artists, companies, universities, and the public around Korea's webtoon industry. Expect webtoon exhibitions, stage programs pairing artists with citizens, a family comic-drawing contest, university and company booths, and a business consultation program connecting creators with industry partners.
Getting there from Seoul
Take the KTX from Seoul Station to Busan Station (roughly 2.5–3 hours), then continue by taxi, bus, or subway to U-dong in Haeundae-gu, near the Busan Culture & Contents Complex. An express bus from Seoul Express Bus Terminal to Busan is also an option for a similar or slightly longer travel time.
Tips
- The venue (U-dong, Haeundae-gu) is not directly at Busan Station, so budget extra time and fare for the onward local transfer.
- As the 10th anniversary edition includes an opening ceremony with industry guests and a performance, arriving early on opening day is worthwhile if you want to catch it.
- If travelling with children, the family comic-drawing contest and exhibition/experience booths make for an easy family day out — check on-site for any sign-up process.
Best for: webtoon fans, families, aspiring creators, industry professionals.
