Overview

The 2026 Youth Yanggu Punchbowl Apple-Siraegi Festival is an autumn festival centered on apples and siraegi (dried radish greens), the signature agricultural specialties of Yanggu's Punchbowl, set amid pristine nature. This year's theme is 'Falling for the Punchbowl,' inviting visitors to immerse themselves fully in the Punchbowl's charm, from the taste of apples and siraegi to its beautiful scenery and diverse attractions. In particular, newly introduced photo zones and merchandise featuring apple and siraegi characters add a sense of friendliness and fun to the festival, while a rich lineup of content — including food and hands-on programs made with local agricultural specialties, performances, and events — offers something for the whole family to enjoy together. It is Yanggu's signature agricultural specialty festival, where visitors can experience firsthand the excellence of local agricultural specialties amid the Punchbowl's autumn scenery and immerse themselves in the Punchbowl's flavor, charm, and enjoyment.

Why go

This festival celebrates the Yanggu Punchbowl's signature autumn harvest of apples and siraegi (dried radish greens), with tastings, hands-on programs using the local produce, performances, and new photo zones with apple and siraegi character merchandise. It's a family-friendly, agriculture-focused event set against the scenic Punchbowl basin, a remote highland valley near the DMZ.

Getting there from Seoul

Yanggu has no train service, so the usual route is an intercity/express bus from Dong-Seoul Bus Terminal to Yanggu Bus Terminal. The festival site is in Haean-myeon, a further inland basin area, so plan on a taxi or local bus for the last stretch from Yanggu town to the Punchbowl Healing House area near Seonghwangji.

Tips

  • Confirm onward transport from Yanggu town to Haean-myeon in advance, as this rural area has limited bus frequency.
  • Pack warm layers; early November in Gangwon's highland basin can be cold, especially in the evening.
  • Try the fresh apples and siraegi-based dishes on site, the festival's signature local specialties.

Best for: families, food lovers, rural/nature tourism, photographers.
