Why go
Yeongdeok Wellness Festa is a three-day autumn healing event set on the pine-forested coast of Goraebul National Camping Ground, overlooking the East Sea. The focus is rest and recovery rather than typical festival crowds, with activities like barefoot beach walking (earthing), Nordic walking, forest yoga, and meditation. Evening programs include a wellness music concert and a campfire, plus a space to try local Yeongdeok food.
Getting there from Seoul
Yeongdeok sits on Korea's east coast in Gyeongsangbuk-do, reachable by KTX on the Donghae line to Yeongdeok Station, or by express bus from Seoul to Yeongdeok Bus Terminal (roughly a 4-hour ride). From either station, the Goraebul National Camping Ground in Byeonggok-myeon is a further taxi or local bus ride, as it's outside the main town centre.
Tips
- Since the venue is a national camping ground, check accommodation and camping reservations well ahead of the October 16-18 dates.
- Bring comfortable, grippy footwear for the beach walking and Nordic walking sessions, and a change of shoes for after.
- Pack layers for the campfire and evening concert, as coastal autumn nights can turn cool.

Independence Fair Commemorating the 100th Anniversary of the June 10 Independence Movement
Nov 4 – Nov 6, 2026
2026 marks the 100th anniversary of the June 10 Independence Movement. To mark this centennial, the 'Independence Fair Commemorating the 100th Anniversary of the June 10 Independence Movement' is being held, offering a new way to encounter the meaning of the independence movement within today's everyday life. This Independence Fair will be held at Andong International Convention Center as a multi-part event combining exhibitions, hands-on experiences, lectures, talks, education, and culture. In the 'Exhibition Zone,' the scenes of the June 10 Independence Movement are recreated, allowing visitors to indirectly absorb historical knowledge, while the 'Experience Zone,' working together with various memorial and veterans affairs organizations, offers participatory content so that future generations can naturally learn about the June 10 Independence Movement, a subject that has often been seen as difficult. Indoors, a variety of programs are arranged, including informative lectures and talk shows aimed at teenagers, while outdoors, performances and rest areas are considered to create a lively and enjoyable festival. This forward-looking 'patriots and veterans culture' is carried out in today's language and style, based on the belief that it should be something 'anyone can enjoy easily and with fun.'
