Welcome to Singwan-dong
Oct 9 – Oct 10, 2026 · Chungcheongnam-do
Overview
Welcome to Singwan-dong is a youth culture-centered street festival held around University Road in Singwan-dong, Gongju. As part of the cultural city creation project promoted by Gongju City and the Gongju Culture and Tourism Foundation, it aims to cultivate Singwan-dong as a youth cultural hub and to revitalize the local cultural ecosystem and commercial district. Held since 2022, the festival has operated as a street performance-centered event, progressively expanding its content to include a busking competition, street performances, a beer festa, a flea market, and experience programs. In 2025, it established the 'Welcome to Singwan-dong' brand through the installation of street signposts and sculptures and inclusion in navigation services, and in 2026 it aims to build a sustainable festival model based on a cooperative operating system involving residents, merchants, universities, and youth. The 2026 festival will be held from October 9 to 11 around University Road in Singwan-dong, featuring a main performance, nationwide street performances, performances by local youth and young adult performance groups, programs linked to the local commercial district, and local currency coupon events. It is also planned to operate as a representative local street festival that, in connection with the Baekje Cultural Festival, encourages visitors to extend their stay and promotes the cultural and economic revitalization of the Singwan-dong area.
