Uiryeong Gigang Rich Flower Festival
Sep 24 – Oct 25, 2026 · Happening now · Gyeongsangnam-do

Overview
The Uiryeong Gigang Rich Flower Festival is a flower-themed autumn festival. The festival aims to create a unique floral event specific to Uiryeong by combining the waterside and floral landscapes of the Gigang area with the theme of “the energy of wealth.” The landscape complex features plantings of pampas grass, pink muhly, asters, gaura, and cosmos. Key programs include an opening performance, a walking trail, photo spots, a flower playground, cultural performances, local food stalls, and booths selling agricultural and specialty products.
Why go
This autumn flower festival turns the waterside area around Gigang into a seasonal garden, combining pampas grass, pink muhly, asters, gaura, and cosmos across a landscaped park. A walking trail, photo spots, and a flower playground make it appealing for a relaxed day out, alongside cultural performances and local food and specialty-product stalls.
Getting there from Seoul
Uiryeong-gun has no train station, so the most direct option is an intercity or express bus from a Seoul terminal (such as Seoul Express Bus Terminal or Nambu Terminal) to Uiryeong Bus Terminal, a journey of roughly 3.5-4 hours. Alternatively, take a KTX or ITX to a nearby Gyeongsangnam-do hub (such as Jinju or Masan/Changwon) and transfer to a local bus or taxi for the final leg to the Forest of Patriotic Volunteers Waterfront Park in Jijeong-myeon. A car is useful for reaching the venue easily, as it is in a rural area outside the town centre.
Tips
- Admission is free and the site is open 09:00-18:00, so plan for a daytime visit.
- Wear comfortable walking shoes, as the main draw is strolling the trail among the flower plantings and photo spots.
- Since the festival runs over a month (24 Sep-25 Oct) with several flower species, blooms will look different early versus late in the run, so it's worth checking closer to your visit date what's in peak bloom.
Best for: photographers, families, nature lovers, flower enthusiasts.
