Tamna Culture Festival
Oct 17 – Oct 21, 2026 · Jeju

Overview
The Tamna Cultural Festival holds significance in reinterpreting the cultural heritage and community spirit left by the region's forefathers from a contemporary perspective to develop them into modern values, while widely promoting Jeju's unique culture and arts. Furthermore, by linking with the National Sports Festival, it aims to create a venue where culture and sports harmonize, and to expand into a cultural festival where residents actively participate and co-create. Through this, the festival seeks to foster communication and harmony that spans generations and regions, explore the possibilities of future culture based on Jeju's identity, and pass on the value of Tamna culture to the next generation.
Why go
The Tamna Culture Festival reinterprets Jeju's traditional heritage and community spirit for a modern audience, mixing local performances and arts with free admission for all visitors. This edition runs alongside the National Sports Festival, so culture and sports share the spotlight in a celebration built around resident participation.
Getting there from Seoul
Jeju is an island, so the standard route from Seoul is a domestic flight (around one hour) from Gimpo International Airport to Jeju International Airport, rather than rail or express bus. From Jeju Airport, a local bus or taxi reaches Jeju-si and the Jeju Citizens' Welfare Town Plaza area, where much of the festival is centered.
Tips
- Admission is free, but events are spread across multiple sites on Jeju Island, so check the schedule and plan transport between venues.
- Hours run 10:00-22:00, allowing you to pair the festival with daytime sightseeing and evening programs.
- Because the festival overlaps with the National Sports Festival, book Jeju flights and accommodation early.
Best for: families, culture enthusiasts, local traditions, island travelers.
