Details for the 2026 festivals will be updated as they become available.*The Seosan Haemi Eupseong Festival is a cultural festival held at Seosan Haemieupseong Walled Town, an ancient fortress with a 600-year history. The festival combines light, music, and the historic fortress to create a fantastic nighttime scenery and offers content for all generations. During the day, visitors can enjoy sophisticated performances while picnicking, and at night, they can partake in a vibrant evening stroll.

Getting there from Seoul
Seosan has no direct train service, so the practical route from Seoul is an intercity or express bus to Seosan Bus Terminal, followed by a local taxi or bus to Haemieupseong Walled Town. Check current bus schedules and journey times before travelling, as Seosan is a couple of hours from Seoul by road depending on traffic and terminal.
Tips
- Festival runs 11:00-21:00, so plan for both the daytime picnic program and the after-dark light/drone show.
- Bring a picnic mat or blanket since picnicking within the fortress grounds is part of the program.
- Wear comfortable shoes for walking the walled town, and dress for cool October evenings.

Hongseong Global BBQ Festival

The Hongseong Global BBQ Festival held in Hongseong, a city of aesthetics, is a festival where visitors can enjoy various barbecue cultures from home and abroad in one place. You can taste unique barbecue dishes based on Hongseong's livestock resources such as Hongseong hanu (Korean beef) and Hongseong handon (Korean pork), and there will also be cooking demonstrations by famous YouTubers and chefs. Various performances such as drone shows, busking performances, and other live music performances, as well as hands-on experiences, are prepared for family visitors, making it a festival that people of all ages can enjoy.

Hongseong Namdang Port Jumbo Shrimp Festival

Namdang Port, located at the west end of Hongseong, is a famous west coast port known for its exceptional seafood. Surrounded by the clean waters of Cheonsuman Bay, Namdang Port is home to a wide array of sea life including blue crab, cockle and webfoot octopus. Namdang Port also draws throngs of visitors from early September to mid-October every year for the country’s largest Jumbo Shrimp Festival.

Cheonan World Dance Festival

Since its debut in 2003, the Cheonan World Dance Festival has grown into one of Korea’s major dance festivals, with a history spanning more than two decades. It has been designated a Cultural Tourism Festival by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism eight times and selected as a Regional Representative Performing Arts Festival for six consecutive years. Since 2020, it has also been recognized as an Honorary Cultural Tourism Festival. The festival has received the highest rating in Chungcheongnam-do’s “One Signature Festival per City/County” evaluation for two consecutive years. The Cheonan World Dance Festival 2026 will take place from October 1 to 5, 2026. Highlights include the National Dance Competition, International Dance Competition, and Street Dance Parade, along with a variety of other dance programs. Held at Cheonan Stadium and Cheonan Samgeori Park, the festival transforms the heart of the city into a vibrant celebration of dance, bringing together performers and audiences from Korea and around the world.
