Mungyeong Apple Festival
Oct 17 – Nov 1, 2026 · Gyeongsangbuk-do

Overview
Mungyeong is a mid-mountain region, and apples grown there in fertile soil and a pristine natural environment with a wide day-night temperature gap have firm flesh, a deep aroma, and high sweetness, earning them a reputation as 'honey apples.' Mungyeong apple farmers have a strong passion for producing high-quality apples, completing technical training to grow delicious and safe apples, and take pride in being 'good farmers' who put consumers first. The Mungyeong Apple Festival is a bountiful festival centered on the premium, nationally representative Mungyeong Gamhong apple, which boasts the best taste and aroma in the country with an average sweetness of 16.5 Brix. The festival holds event programs as well as promotional and sales events to widely publicize the excellence of Mungyeong Gamhong apples to consumers, and operates an online store to give consumers who cannot visit the festival site in person the chance to purchase Mungyeong apples — making it a festival ground where all visitors can be satisfied and enjoy themselves.
Why go
The Mungyeong Apple Festival celebrates Mungyeong Gamhong, a premium apple with an average sweetness of 16.5 Brix, grown in a mid-mountain region known for its wide day-night temperature swing that gives the fruit firm flesh and a deep aroma. Visitors can take part in festival event programs alongside promotional and sales events for these 'honey apples,' and there's an online store for anyone who can't make it to the festival grounds in person.
Getting there from Seoul
Mungyeong isn't on a KTX line, so the most practical option from Seoul is an intercity or express bus from Dong Seoul Bus Terminal, roughly 2.5-3 hours depending on traffic and schedule. Alternatively, take a regular train toward the region and continue by local bus or taxi. From the Mungyeong bus terminal, a short taxi or local bus ride reaches the festival site at 932 Saejae-ro, Mungyeong-eup.
Tips
- If you can't visit in person, the festival's online store sells Mungyeong Gamhong apples directly.
- Pack layers — the mid-mountain setting means a noticeable day-night temperature swing in autumn.
- Check bus schedules both ways in advance, since Mungyeong is reached mainly by intercity bus rather than rail.
Best for: families, food lovers, photographers.
