Why go
This is Jeju's leading reading-culture festival, marking its 10th anniversary in 2026 at Udang Library under the theme 'Gather in the Field of Books.' It brings together longtime readers and newcomers alike, making it a good pick for visitors curious about local community and literary culture rather than typical sightseeing.
Getting there from Seoul
Jeju is an island, so there is no train or bus link from Seoul — fly from Gimpo or Incheon to Jeju International Airport (around 1 hour). Udang Library, in Jeju-si's Geonip-dong area near Sarabong, is a short taxi or local bus ride from the airport or downtown Jeju-si.
Tips
- Have the Korean address (사라봉동길 30, 제주시, 건입동) ready for taxi drivers, as English signage is limited outside tourist zones.
- It runs just two days (24–25 October 2026), so check the exact daily hours and program once you arrive at Udang Library.
- As a library-centered community festival, expect browsing and exhibits rather than ticketed performances.
Best for: book lovers, families, literature enthusiasts.

Tamna Cultural Festival
Oct 17 – Oct 21, 2026
The 65th Tamna Cultural Festival is a festival that carries on the history and cultural spirit of the ancestors who, in the embrace of Hallasan, built their foundation for life through the wisdom of creation and a pioneering spirit, and brought Tamna culture into full bloom. It holds meaning in reinterpreting the cultural heritage and community spirit left behind by our ancestors from today's perspective, developing them into modern values, and widely promoting Jeju's unique culture and arts. In addition, in connection with the sports festival, it aims to create a space where culture and sports come together, and to expand into a cultural festival in which the people of Jeju Island participate as the main agents and create together. Through this, it seeks to achieve communication and harmony that embrace generations and regions, explore the possibilities of future culture based on Jeju's identity, and pass on the value of Tamna culture to the next generation.
