Overview

The 2026 Jeju Pet Culture Industry Festival brings together the existing Jeju Pet Culture Festival and the Jeju Pet Fair, held at the same time. The '2026 Jeju Pet Culture Festival' is a festival for a Jeju where people and animals can live happily together, built around the proper culture of pet companionship. A variety of programs will be held for everyone to enjoy together, including pet owners and the general public alike — from pet etiquette education and campaigns promoting a mature pet culture to various hands-on pet-related experience programs. The '2026 Jeju Pet Fair' will see about 70 companies related to the pet industry take part, showcasing a wide range of exhibition items such as pet food, pet supplies, and pet services, along with a variety of events.

Why go

This event merges the Jeju Pet Culture Festival and the Jeju Pet Fair into one gathering focused on responsible pet ownership on Jeju. Expect pet etiquette education, public awareness campaigns, hands-on experience programs, and an exhibition hall with roughly 70 pet-industry companies showing food, supplies, and services.

Getting there from Seoul

Jeju has no rail or highway link to the mainland, so the practical route is a domestic flight from Gimpo (or Incheon) to Jeju International Airport, which takes about an hour. From the airport, take a taxi or local bus to the Ora-ildong area of Jeju-si, near Halla Gymnasium, where the festival is held.

Tips

  • If bringing your own pet, check the airline's pet-in-cabin/cargo policy and any festival rules on leashes or carriers before travelling.
  • The venue area around Halla Gymnasium is on the edge of Jeju-si, so confirm bus routes or arrange a taxi in advance rather than expecting to walk from downtown.
  • Early November weather in Jeju can be cool and breezy, so dress in layers, especially if parts of the fair are outdoors.

Best for: pet owners, families, animal lovers, exhibition visitors.

2026 5th Jeju Biennale Heokkeugok Modakchigok Iyahong: The Art of Transformation

    Aug 25 – Nov 15, 2026

The civilization that blossomed on Jeju, a volcanic island on the Eurasian plate, flowed in not only from the sea but also arrived from the continental civilizations of the north. All manner of elements scattered and gathered on Jeju, mingling and transforming to shape today's ecology, geography, and way of life on Jeju. Now entering its 10th year, the 5th Jeju Biennale focuses on Jeju's dynamic process of encountering northern civilizations, scattering (heokkeuda), gathering (modakchida), and transforming (iyahong). To this end, the Biennale takes as its thematic word and core concept 'Iyahong,' the refrain of the Iyahong Taryeong, a folk song that flowed in from the mainland and became another indigenous folk song of Jeju. Through Jeju, where the principles of climate and sustenance are embedded, the Jeju Biennale seeks to present the ways of survival and the aesthetics shaped together by objects, nature, human life, and divinity.
