Hoengseong Hanu Festival is the biggest hanu (Korean cattle) festival in Korea. Visitors can buy hanu and local agricultural products at a discounted price. The festival consists of various programs across three themes: food, culture and arts, and experiences.

Getting there from Seoul
Take a KTX on the Gyeonggang Line from Cheongnyangni Station to Hoengseong Station, a trip of roughly an hour, then continue by taxi or local transport to the festival grounds by the Seomgang River. An express bus from Dong Seoul Bus Terminal to Hoengseong Bus Terminal is also an option.
Tips
- Festival runs daily 10:00-21:00 from October 7-11, 2026 — allow a full day to cover all three program themes.
- Entry is free, but some hands-on activity programs charge separately, so bring cash for those plus any hanu or produce purchases.
- The venue is an outdoor riverside area along the Seomgang River, so dress for October weather and expect bigger crowds on weekends.

Night of Light Show

Night of Light Show is a nighttime attraction at Ganhyeon Tourist Area that mixes media facade, lasers, and a fountain show into one grand performance. The media facade section is the largest in Korea, using 12 large beam projectors on a natural rock wall. There are also seven large lasers and the fountain shoots water up to 60 meters high in time to music. Night of Light Show takes place on Saturday and Sunday evenings from late April to late October.

The 2026 Yeoju Ogoknaru Festival celebrates Yeoju's traditional culture and history, harking back to a time when local specialties such as rice and sweet potatoes were shipped from Jopo Quay as tribute offerings to the royal court during the Joseon dynasty. Highlights include the Royal Tribute Parade, Bibimbap with Cast-Iron-Pot-Cooked Yeoju Rice, Roasted Sweet Potato Guinness, Wish Paper Trail, and Nakhwanori, along with local produce markets, food stalls, traditional cultural activities, and performances. Visitors can also sample a wide range of locally grown produce and enjoy hands-on programs and family-friendly activities inspired by traditional culture. After sunset, nighttime programs such as Nakhwanori give the festival a different atmosphere. Bringing together the best of Yeoju’s local produce, traditional culture, hands-on experiences, and lively entertainment, the festival offers a memorable taste of autumn in Yeoju.

Chuncheon Makguksu & Dakgalbi Festival celebrates dakgalbi (spicy stir-fried chicken) and makguksu (buckwheat noodles), two of the most famous specialties of the city of Chuncheon. During this festival, the area is full of booths selling buckwheat noodles and spicy stir-fried chicken. The festival offers plenty of ways to experience these two local foods.
