Overview

Seoraeseom, a hidden picnic spot along the Hangang River offering a captivating view of the river at a glance, will host the '2026 Hangang Seoraeseom Picnic Concert: Autumn Romance' for three days, from October 9 (Fri) to 11 (Sun). Every day from 13:00 to 19:00, Seoraeseom bathed in sunset light will offer romantic music performances, hands-on programs, and rest areas, giving citizens an autumn outing in the heart of the city. Performances, hands-on programs, and rest areas are free to use, while some programs, such as the picnic food market, require payment.

Why go

Seoraeseom is a small, less crowded island-like picnic spot on the Hangang River in Banpo, and for three days this event turns it into an outdoor stage with live music, hands-on activities, and rest areas set against the river at sunset. It's a low-key way to spend an autumn afternoon in central Seoul without an entrance fee for the main programs.

Getting there from Seoul

The site is in Banpo-dong, Seocho-gu, right on the Hangang River, so it's a straightforward subway trip rather than an intercity journey. Take Subway Line 3, 7, or 9 to Express Bus Terminal Station and follow signs/the underpass toward Banpo Hangang Park, then walk along the riverside path to Seoraeseom. A taxi from most central Seoul neighbourhoods also takes well under 30 minutes outside rush hour.

Tips

  • Go between 13:00 and 19:00, when the programs run each day (Oct 9–11); arrive earlier in that window for better spots as sunset viewing is a highlight.
  • Bring a mat or light blanket to sit on, since it's an outdoor riverside picnic setting.
  • Carry small cash or a card if you plan to buy from the picnic food market, as that part is paid while performances and rest areas are free.

Best for: families, couples, photographers, nature lovers.

    Hangang Festival

    Oct 17 – Oct 25, 2026

The easiest way to enjoy this autumn is to head to the Hangang. Whether you walk, run, or just rest, the autumn Hangang is full of healthy laughter, delicious delights, and sparkling romance. Wake up your body with fun workouts—from 'Rhythm Training,' where you cross lines to upbeat music, to 'Poundfit,' where you tap out rhythms with sticks, to 'Sliding Board,' which builds balance and core strength through sliding movements—and once you're done exercising, recharge with healthy energy from delicious food you make with your own hands. Applaud the gala show stage created together by dreaming youths and musical stars, and your wonderful day on the Hangang will be complete. Children can awaken their senses and adults can relax at ease in a special playground set in nature, while a culinary experience featuring the flavors and ideas of 20 young chefs, a lawn turned into one giant yoga mat, and a variety of water activity programs that slow the pace of daily life and bring you closest to the Hangang's autumn also await. Each week brings something different: experiences of walking, viewing, and enjoying Jamsu Bridge; an outdoor library where performances and play accompany the turning of each page; sensory performances unfolding on the beautiful Seorae Island as it glows with sunset light; paper airplane flying that brings both adults and children back to childhood; and the joy of creation as you complete your own artwork together with artists—all of these pleasures spread across the Hangang can fill your day. Amid stopping while walking, resting while moving, and tasting and marveling, autumn will deepen.
