Overview

The 2026 4th Gwangmyeong Cave Light Festival is a participatory light festival held throughout the Gwangmyeong Cave area. This year's festival, themed 'Forest of Light, Awakening Life,' creates a space where light and life come together, allowing citizens and visitors to enjoy and take part in a variety of content together. During the festival period, an opening ceremony, a drone light show, and various performances will take place, alongside hands-on experience programs, exhibitions, and a market that visitors can directly participate in. The festival site will feature a main stage, media content, experience booths, an environmental campaign booth, and rest areas, along with a food zone for food sales and operations. Through sights, performances, and experience content that make use of Gwangmyeong Cave's unique spatial character and light, the festival is designed to let citizens and visitors enjoy themselves while also reflecting together on the value of nature and the environment.

    House of the Upright Official, Shining Light on Today

    The Ori Yi Won-ik Ancestral House and Gwangamdang (Chunghyun Museum) will host the traditional culture event 'House of the Upright Official, Shining Light on Today.' Centered on the incorruptible life of Ori Yi Won-ik, one of Joseon's most representative upright officials, and Gwangamdang, the hall bestowed upon him by King Injo, the event features a variety of programs for children and families to enjoy together, including a play, a mulberry dyeing experience, and a Gwangamdang exploration program. It will be held at Chunghyun Museum on September 5, September 19, October 17, and November 7.

    The Geumcheon Harmony Festival is Geumcheon-gu's representative festival, held annually for over 20 years since its inception in 2003. The festival aims to provide a venue for residents to rest, enjoy, and harmonize through the theme of music. Utilizing venues such as Geumnarae Jungang Park and the Plaza in front of the Geumcheon-gu Office, the event is planned to feature content that residents can enjoy and participate in. This includes a citizen-participatory show choir where residents come together to create beautiful melodies, exciting music performances, diverse experience booths, a sentimental flea market, and delicious food trucks.
