Overview

Following previous editions in May and September, the third round of 'YES! Kids Zone,' Dalseong-gun's signature children's festival that the whole family can enjoy together, will be held. Under the theme 'Children's Imagination Becomes Reality,' 'YES! Kids Zone' brings together a variety of hands-on programs prepared by each district and organization in Dalseong-gun, along with performances by local performance teams, creating a shared venue for local residents. In addition, the 'Courage Challenge,' a hands-on program designed to spark children's spirit of challenge, along with a circus experience zone, air bounce, food trucks, and rest areas will also be set up so the whole family can enjoy it together. In the stage program, Korea's leading illusionist Lee Eun-gyeol, along with creator and comedian Shin Yoon-seung and Park Min-seong's 'Huigeukinz,' will take the special stage, heating up the venue with their delightful and intense energy. Beyond that, an unbroken lineup of unmissable performances will keep the festival's fun going — including a science magic show combining astonishing science and magic, delightful comic mime, thrilling circus acts, and fantastic bubble and balloon shows — letting visitors fully savor the enjoyment of the festival.

2026 Dalseong Daegu Contemporary Art Festival Movement: Flow-Ringer-Flux

    Sep 11 – Oct 11, 2026

The Dalseong Daegu Contemporary Art Festival is a contemporary art festival held around Gangjeongbo, carrying on the spirit of the 'Daegu Contemporary Art Festival,' where young artists in the 1970s challenged the rigidity of the established art world through diverse artistic experiments. Gangjeong, the venue of the Dalseong Daegu Contemporary Art Festival, holds significance as the site of Korea's first collective art event, held during the 3rd Daegu Contemporary Art Festival in 1977, in which about 200 artists—the largest number ever—participated.

    2026 Dalseong 100 Pianos

    Oct 3, 2026

'Dalseong 100 Pianos,' a cultural content that represents the region and stands as the only content of its kind nationwide. 'Dalseong 100 Pianos' is Korea's leading piano music festival, held at Samunjin Ferry in Dalseong-gun, Daegu — the historic site where Korea's first piano arrived. In March 1900, a piano brought to Samunjin by the American missionary Sidebotham was such an unfamiliar Western instrument to local residents at the time that they called it a 'ghost box.' Yet the history of music that began with a single piano has, more than 100 years later, grown into a grand stage where 100 pianos perform together.

    The 4th Chilgok Transmedia Festival

    Sep 15 – Oct 25, 2026

The 4th Chilgok Transmedia Festival is a cultural arts festival held throughout Waegwan-eup, Chilgok-gun, designed to let visitors experience the area's spaces and cultural resources in new ways by combining them with diverse media content. This year's festival takes as its theme the friendship between the poet Gu Sang and the painter Lee Jung-seop, expanding on the two artists' lives and body of work through literature, art, media, and performance content. In particular, rather than concentrating content in a single venue, the festival is run as a space-migrating festival in which visitors move through everyday spaces throughout Waegwan-eup to experience the programs directly.
