Overview

The Anyang Public Art Project (APAP) started in 2005 and has led to the creation of many beautiful works of art that decorate the city's public spaces. The Anyang Foundation for Culture & Arts has created a tour program to explore the wonderful works, starting from the earliest works in 2005 up until now.

The Anyang Public Art Project (APAP) has been installing works throughout the city since 2005, and this tour program walks visitors through the collection from those earliest pieces up to the present. It's a good pick for an easy, art-filled half-day outside central Seoul, with stops spanning Anyang Art Park and the Pyeongchon area's Jungang Park.

Getting there from Seoul

Anyang is within the Seoul metropolitan subway network, reachable via Seoul Subway Line 1 to Anyang Station, with local buses or a short taxi ride onward to Anyang Art Park or Jungang Park depending on the stop. No KTX or express bus is needed for this trip.

Tips

  • The site is closed Mondays; guided tours run Tuesday to Sunday at 10:30 and 14:00.
  • Entry is inexpensive (3,000 won adults, 1,000 won for ages 19 and under), but bring cash as it's a small local ticket.
  • Some special tours carry separate fees on top of the standard admission, so check details for the specific route you want before you go.
