The 6K course is 6km with a cumulative elevation gain of 315m or more, with a time limit of 3 hours. Along with trail running, participants can take part in forest healing, forest culture experiences, a local market, and other experience programs. The event is planned for 500 participants each day over the two days.

Why go

The 2026 Jinan Plateau Forestival combines non-competitive trail running (16K and 6K courses) with forest healing and forest culture programs around the National Jinan Plateau Forest Healing Center. It suits visitors who want a scenic highland running challenge paired with wellness activities and a local market, rather than a purely competitive race.

Getting there from Seoul

Take the KTX from Seoul/Yongsan Station to Jeonju (roughly 1.5-2 hours), then transfer to a local or intercity bus toward Jinan-gun (about 40-60 minutes). Direct intercity buses to Jinan's bus terminal also run from Seoul's Central City or Nambu terminals. From Jinan town, a taxi or local bus is needed to reach the venue in Baegun-myeon.

Tips

  • Register ahead of time, as each day is capped at 500 participants across both courses.
  • The 16K course gains over 1,071m and has a 6-hour limit; the 6K gains over 315m with a 3-hour limit, so bring proper trail shoes and gear.
  • The venue is in rural Baegun-myeon, so arrange onward transport from Jinan town in advance since local taxi availability may be limited.

Best for: trail runners, forest healing/wellness seekers, outdoor enthusiasts.
