Why go
This is the 2026 edition of Culture Month, an annual national culture festival held since 1990, this year themed 'Yeosu Night Sea: A Voyage of Romance and Culture.' Centered on Haeyang Park and spread across Yeosu City, it features invited performances by Park Hye-won and Zior Park alongside other performances, exhibitions, and experience and community culture programs.
Getting there from Seoul
Take the KTX from Seoul (or Yongsan) directly to Yeosu Expo Station, a journey of roughly three hours. Express buses to Yeosu also run from Seoul's major bus terminals, taking somewhat longer than the train. Haeyang Park and the city-centre event sites are a short taxi or local bus ride from Yeosu Expo Station.
Tips
- Events are spread across Haeyang Park and multiple sites around Yeosu City, so check which venue hosts each program before heading out
- Evenings by the sea in mid-October can be cool and breezy, so bring a light jacket
- The festival runs Friday 16 to Monday 19 October, so weekend dates will likely be busiest
